A tribute to Bill Boddy, ‘the godfather of motorsports journalism in the UK’, takes place at Brooklands Museum on October 1st.
A motoring and motorsport enthusiast motorsport from an early age, Boddy – who died in July, aged 98 – was the founder member of The Brooklands Society, an organisation charged with preserving the legendary race track.

Organised by the Brooklands Museum Trust and the staff of Motor Sport, the magazine he edited for 55 years, the event will include pre-war cars on display and in action, an appearance from GP winner Tony Brooks and a static display of a partially restored Hurricane, reflecting Boddy’s wartime service with the Ministry of Aircraft Production.
